Courageous Advocacy

Courageous advocacy is a long-term legacy, an endowment to future generations; it is about releasing the possibility of the pupils in our school to serve the common good.   In essence, it is the ‘so what’ of our faith and Christian foundation. We read and share the stories and messages from the bible, but how do we take these messages into our lives and improve the lives of others?

We encourage pupils on our school council to choose which charities we will fundraise for and support throughout the year. Each year they review a number of suggestions and choose the ones they feel are more important. This means we do support the national charities such as Red Nose Day and Children in Need but also smaller less well known charities like the local wetlands charity, working to protect local habitats as well as the Brain Cancer charity who supported one of our pupils through his treatment.

The school council are encouraged to make suggestions about how we can live our values. This starts with our values ambassadors who are chosen each term. It is also the reason why we collect food donations all year and why every class completes a litter pick when they go to the beach so that they leave it in a better condition than they found it.

We look forward to sharing other projects with you as this develops at our school. If you have any suggestions please let us know by emailing us on
