Ofsted Inspection 10th – 11th February 2016
Dear Parents and Carers
It is with pleasure that I attach the report from our recent Ofsted inspection. It is a very detailed report which clearly evidences the areas we have focussed on since our last inspection. Every area is now Good with a significant number of areas of strength and two minor areas for further development which we are already working on.
Our inspection was a very positive experience where every member of the Staff and Governing Body was well prepared and able to demonstrate their work, speak with confidence and share their evidence. I am delighted that every group in our school is commented on in the report as being so effective and having such a positive impact, be they support staff, teachers, subject leaders, SEN staff or deputy heads. The children are wonderful and were a credit to our school, whether they read, spoke, shared their work or met the inspectors at any point in the two days. I am grateful to all of you who took the time to complete the questionnaire and to speak with the inspection team.
The dedication of our staff and governors and your support is clear. It is an enormous achievement to have had such an impact on raising standards that we have been able to turn historical weaknesses into areas of strength in just two years, and all alongside the change in curriculum, assessment framework and Age of Transfer.
I hope you take time to read this report through.
It is a pleasure and a privilege to be Head of West Park and I am very much looking forward to our next adventures.
